OUR FIRST FAMILY VACAY!!
This June, we took a little trip to Destin, FL with some good great friends of ours. Yep, 4 children ages three and under (3, 2, 1, and 2 months!). Good times... No, seriously, it really was a good time! We stayed at a condo that turned out to be super perfect for our clan, and it was RIGHT on the beach. I mean, literally, we were on the first floor, walked out our door and were on the beach! You can't beat that with a stick!
I wondered how these two yahoos would take being at the ocean, and as it turns out, they both loved it! The sand... Oh, the sand... They could've stayed in it all day!And Lincoln really liked the ocean as long as you were holding his hand and didn't get too deep in.
You're welcome for this lovely picture Jaclyn...
Liam's favorite spot. When he wasn't sleeping in the tent at least!
These are two cool dudes right here...
Ellison and Lincoln had a blast! They played really well together (at least 70% of the time) and kept each other great company at the beach. Liam and Emmerson were pretty darn good, too - however, were a *tad* bit more high maintenance...
We made the guys turn around at the Florida line for a picture or two... Sure they loved us for that!
And here is the first time these two are seeing the ocean. They were so excited! This was also the ONLY day it rained while we were there, which was super awesome.
"come see mom!"
Yep, just a little windy that first day...
Even though it was a little rainy that first day, we pulled the pool out on the patio and had our own beach party!
We had all kinds of big plans for places we wanted to visit. What were we thinking? We didn't make it to half of them, I can't imagine why (cough, cough LIAM/EMMERSON cough cough). But we did get to try some pretty great restaurants. We went to Captain Daves (?) where the couple next to us asked to be moved due to Liam's incessant screaming. We went to McGuire's where we ended up cutting out due to Ellison punching the waitress (HAAAHAAA - I actually snorted typing that one). And we went to Pompano Joe's (please, please try the grilled crablegs!) which actually went mostly smooth.
These two... Something else I tell ya.
So, this is the whole crew. We took a trip to Panama City for Dolphin world. The kiddos had a blast! It was also some awesome food at some random little place by the pier. Can't remember the name, but it was goo-ood.
Also walked the fishing pier and watched a few fish heads get smacked on the deck. To say Lincoln was intrigued would be putting it mildly.
Bedtime snacks!
Posers!
One night we took the kiddos to a little amusement park up the road. Lincoln was loving it until he rode the airplanes, which were slightly loud. Needless to say, he freaked. Didn't ride anything other than the train (which he obviously covered his ears for, just in case) for the rest of the night. Poor Ellison was stuck riding everything by herself!
You can't keep this kid out of anything!
The only drama: One afternoon we were heading out to dinner and Lincoln and Ellison were running just a tad ahead of us in the condo hallway. They wanted to hit the elevator button and we told them they could, TOTALLY not thinking the doors would close before we got to them. I guess you can imagine where I'm going with this. Doors closed one second before we could stop them and kids were riding, alone, to some unknown floor. Matt ran up, Ashley ran down, and we were stuck there, holding babies and panicking! When we found them, Ellison was crying and Lincoln was FREAKING OUT. He talked about avoiding the elevator for the rest of the trip...
It was an awesome trip, and definitely one to remember. Can't wait for the next one!
