8 months

Updates on Liam's 8th month of life! Although it looks like he's trying to strangle him in the picture, Liam is actually really growing on Lincoln. ;) He wants to be wherever Lincoln is, and tries to get his attention by grunting at him. He laughs as soon as big brother gets near.

Liam is really turning into big Pete. Still 12-18 month clothing, still size 4 diaper. He did manage to sprout through two new teeth (upper right dec 25, upper left jan 1) this month! The two upper lateral incisors are trying their best to come through, too! It's a good thing, cause this child will eat anything - teeth or no teeth! If you want him to eat babyfood, you better not have anything else in sight - he will yell and yell till he gets the good stuff! He really loves pretzel sticks, cheerios, toast (ate a piece and a half for breakfast the other morning!), yogurt, and lil crunchies. He hardly ever takes a whole bottle anymore because he eats so much other stuff. Mim-mim says he's a bottomless pit. I've been giving him his formula in a sippy cup with his food lately just to get him used to it, and he actually caught on really quick! Our main problem is slowing down long enough to get some air back into the cup!! :)
He will give you a high (or rather low) five now when you ask, and he'll give you a big ole openmouth kiss too. He's a lot more of a cuddler than Lincoln ever was. Sometimes when you pick him up, he'll just squeeze and squeeze you! So sweet!

He has figured out that his tongue does some pretty funny stuff and is forever sticking it out and rolling it around (see above) - I have the funniest video if I could only figure out how to make it smaller!

Liam loves, LOVES bathtime. He splashes like a madman and chases toys around the tub like crazy.

And I'll tell you what, I shouldn't even say it, but this child is so easy to get to sleep! Lay him in his crib, turn on his lullaby puppy, and he is out. I guess I should see it as a blessing in disguise, because if I had to get two Lincoln-like (who is SOOOOOO time consuming at bedtime) children to sleep, I might pull my hair out! He is currently going to bed at 830, and getting up around 7. He takes two naps a day, a long one in the morning, a short one in the afternoon.

We aren't technically crawling yet (I don't know, do you count army crawling as real crawling?), but he doesn't really have any trouble getting to wherever he wants to go. And he is trying his best to pull up to stuff, but we're just a tad short of the strength he needs. If you stand him up against something, he's pretty good to go though. He really likes to be standing up. And lately he REALLY likes to be jumping (see below)!! Currently one of his favorite toys. I swear it sounds like he is going to break that thing into a million pieces he jumps so hard!

We did just experience our first little illness. According to the Dr, Liam had a mild case of croup. He woke up with a barky cough, we (read: mom, as I was at work) got him into the Dr. and she gave him a steroid to take. He didn't seem to feel too bad, but that cough... oh, that cough... I guess we caught it pretty early, though, thank goodness! And, random thought, she weighed him while he was there and he is 23 lbs... What a chunk!

He's awfully friendly, and I bet if you see us out, he'll be the first one to grin at you!

Eight months of joy with this one!! Love him!

Two months old already?!?!

Am I lucky or what? I mean, just look at that toothless grin - could it get any sweeter? Can't believe this little dude is already two months old!
We are getting lots of grins and "goos" now - and still getting lots of naps during the day. Little champ pulled his first "all-night" snooze last night, too! Got up once squirming around, mommy put his paci back in and he was right back to sleep. AWESOME! But he is awake and alert so much more during the day now. He's really started to focus on faces and bright toys! And those legs (thunderthighs and all) go a hundred miles an hour when he's awake!
Liam is now comfortably fitting into all of the 3 month clothing, and is VERY near exceeding the pee limit for a size 1 diaper!! When I weighed him today (on our bathroom scale), he weighed in at 14 pounds - a growing boy! We are now up to 6 oz bottles (infamil newborn) every four hours during the day.

He sure is a cuddler - couldn't make this baby happier than when you hold him (have to admit, it makes mommy pretty happy too). And he is holding his head up so well now! He loves to be perched looking over your shoulder. Luckily for me, he really likes to be outside - I think he just likes to know that big brother is distracted, therefore not trying to manhandle him!! :)

Totally loving being mommy to two!

A Month in Review

Hard to believe it's already been a month since this little bundle of joy arrived! He has been such a wonderful baby so far!

He's only a week old here -- doesn't he look huge??

Liam had his first bath and ALMOST enjoyed it!! Surprisingly, he has liked his baths everytime since (with the exception of today, wasn't too much of a fan today...).

And so far, he's been very happy with the baby MAM paci - which is a big improvement over that big ole "Maggie Simpson" paci!

Sweet smiles at a week old!! (yes, I know, it's only gas... )

He looks so tiny beside daddy's big ole paw! He lost about 6 oz on our one week visit, but on our reweigh at two weeks, he had gained and was 8 lbs even. He is very slightly smaller than Lincoln - and has WAY less hair, but other than that, they could be clones!

One week old

Liam has started being awake a lot more lately. He will be awake for an hour or so at a time now.

Two weeks old here!

Not to mention he's a pretty good sleeper! In the beginning, he was sleeping 4 hours at a time - but recently (knock on wood) he's started sleeping 6-7 hours in between feedings!

Three weeks old

Liam is taking 5 ounces of Infamil Infant formula at a time every 4 hours during the day. And luckily, so far no problems with spit-up or gassiness!!

Right now, Liam can wear newborn sizes and some 0-3 month things. And we are using size one diapers - but we can still squeeze into a newborn size diaper when necessary!

Four weeks old here... I know he looks very unhappy here, but how cute is his "mad" face?? ;)

I'm ONE MONTH OLD today!!!

We (read: mainly MOMMA) is still taking some adjusting, and I have yet to master getting all three of us ready and out of the house before 10:00! But so far I still have all of my hair, so I call that an accomplishment!

What a little blessing this baby boy is.... I am one lucky momma!

Welcome Liam Owen Morris!

Presenting: Our Family of FOUR!! In posting pictures for this entry, it hit me... OMG... I have MY OWN family of FOUR!! I can't believe God has entrusted me to take care of these two precious babies - but ever so grateful that He has! Anyways, onto the story!

I was planning on an induction on Monday, April 25th - but after my appointment (where Dr. Foster "stripped my membranes") I guess that big ole belly just didn't want to wait 4 more days! After questioning for five hours whether I should go in or not (due to 5 minute apart contractions!), I happened to think: I'm already dilated 4... If I wait and dilate much more, there is a chance I won't get my epidural... And off I went to triage!! ;) We had to spend the night in triage (boo) and they admitted me at 7 am on Good Friday morning. I was dilated to 6 by this point, so she broke my water and started the show! Oh, and incase you wondered: I DID NOT miss the epidural... I got it around 8 am!After 6 minutes of active labor (I'm allowed to brag about it on my own blog...) we welcomed Liam Owen Morris at 1:36 pm April 22, 2011.He weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz and was 20 inches long. VERY close to Lincoln's measurements which were 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 21.5 inches! We wanted to make sure that Lincoln was one of the first to meet him, so mom and dad (who were watching him for us) brought him over to meet his new little brother! Needless to say, at 18 months, he was much more interested in all the gadgets in the room. Not to mention the water fountain!I must say, there was a little stress involved as every time I had a contraction, Liam's heartrate dropped. My nurse (Candy) was *trying* to appear like it wasn't a big deal - but something about her calling the doctor and putting oxygen on me made me feel like it was! Turns out, Liam's cord was conveniently located around his neck at birth! He was okay, it was just enough to slow his heart rate at times. Scary! When Lincoln was born, only two people were allowed in the room at a time (due to swine flu), and this time, there were no "rules" so it was MUCH less stressful!Dramaw and Pap VincentUncle Nate and Aunt KristenNana and Papa JonasUncle Brad and Aunt JaimeLincoln helping Liam take one of his first bottles!Since no one was watching, Lincoln decided to steal a little snack! What IS THIS that everyone is making a fuss over??This picture just captures the full effect of Lincolns thoughts. See how sweet and innocent he looks? Then see that raised hand? I guess he thought Liam needed a birthday whippin...I had to take these sweet bunny ears - since Liam was born on Easter weekend! Ashley REALLY loved these bunny ears... (sarcasm - obviously)Going home on Easter Sunday! He looks so tiny compared to our BIG BOY at home!Mom and dad (okay, mom) had fixed us an Easter dinner when we got home from the hospital. She is the absolute best... We even got to give Lincoln lots of Easter stuff! This picture is SO sweet... Dramaw gets to stay this week to help me out with TWO babies! She is helping me with nighttime feedings, cleaning the house, cooking meals, etc. Am I spoiled or what?

Lincoln loves her so!

Take a look at these two pictures. Is this amazing or what?? They look like little clones! If Liam had more hair, I swear I'd have a hard time keeping the pictures straight!

I'm so looking forward to watching these two grow up together (and hopefully grow to LOVE each other!!). I am so very grateful for all I've been given...

Dramaw is so fun!! She's using Lincoln as a mop!
